Open Question: What is this black beetle found in my apartment?

Location- first floor apartment in market town in windowless bathroom. 3 found on separate occasions over the last 2 months.The body is my thumb nail with legs etc increasing it to up to 2cm.
When trying to get it in jam jar it actually jumped ont skirting board!
Thin for a cockroach and has 2 light brown spikes at rear but not pincers as in earwig. All very black.
